I wanted to start sharing some of my new releases here on the blog with little backstories about each of the designs. Look for a number of posts over the upcoming weeks highlighting my new favorite products.
First up is the Painterly Lines Patterned Card. A lot of my work lately has gravitated towards geometric shapes and patterns. The lines were actually painted with black gouache before being scanned into my computer. I then used a color palette inspired by a dress from Chanel's Métiers d'Art 2013/14 collection.
Chanel's collection debuted in my hometown of Dallas last December. When I saw the outfit below, I immediately fell in love with the mix of coral pinks and cool blue-grays and knew I wanted to incorporate those colors into a card design.
You can shop the Painterly Lines card in the shop here.

I really enjoy browsing Net-A-Porter and checking out beautiful patterns, prints, and color combinations from the world of high fashion. As someone who has a huge love of cacti and succulents (if the name of my company isn't a dead giveaway), I am swooning over these Matthew Williamson cactus garden dresses. They are now at the top of my fashion wish list!

I loved perusing the new collections for Fall 2014 from New York Fashion Week. One of the biggest trends I saw was bold florals over dark colors. The combination of a deep rosey red or blue on top of black is quite striking. Here are a few favorites.
Monique Lhuillier
Lela Rose
Oscar de la Renta

I love our Thank You Pastel Flowers card alongside Lela Rose's floral print shift dress. The purple flowers really pop in both pieces. You can shop the thank you card here.

I'm still loving the colors and patterns seen on the runway at New York Fashion Week last week. When I saw this Lela Rose dress, the colors immediately reminded me of our Happy Birthday Dotted Cake card. Love the mix of blues and teals! You can shop the birthday card here.

One of the best parts about my job is getting to play around with different color combinations. I could spend all day pairing colors! New York Fashion Week is in full force and Pantone just released its spring 2013 color report.

I'm loving these color choices - a mix of muted pastels and eye-popping bolds. I'm a little surprised to not see any pinks in the mix here. Here are some of my favorite looks from the runway mixing up these spring colors.
