Happy Cactus Designs Hand Embroidery is a line of hand embroidered artwork from Brannon Addison. Shop the entire collection here.
Brannon translates her signature floral pattern designs into exquisitely crafted, one-of-a-kind works of hand embroidery. She uses time-honored techniques to craft artwork with a contemporary appeal. The hours of stitching that go into the creation of each piece, combined with the final framed presentation, gives a sense of heirloom quality.
Brannon comes from a long line of needleworkers, but didn’t pick up the craft herself until 2014, at the age of 32. While sidelined with a major ankle injury, she ordered supplies on a whim and taught herself various stitches.
With each piece, Brannon has a general concept in mind, but doesn’t work with a template or pattern. All of her embroidery work is freehand, and she finds beauty in the unknown of how a piece will turn out.
Each piece of hand embroidery is sold framed with a custom mat board selected especially for that design. No two pieces are alike and each takes many hours of hand stitching to complete. Learn more about Brannon's embroidery with this FAQ.
Since launching, Brannon's embroidery has been featured on online outlets including Vogue.com, Design*Sponge, and Martha Stewart. House Beautiful magazine commissioned her to create a special piece for their April 2016 issue.
